4th Panzer Division 1938-1945

In the years 1999-2000, the “Militaria” publishing house published five publications (no. 87, 96, 102, 112 and 123) devoted to the history of the German 4th Panzer Division. The immediate reason for the creation of these books was the discovery of a unique photo album documenting the division’s fights in the years 1941-1945, which found its way to the collection of the Polish Army Museum in Warsaw.

In these studies, the authors put the main emphasis on showing the combat trail of the 4th Panzer Division. The issue of armament and equipment of the division in this period was presented in the background, and the unit also used quite unusual combat vehicles, e.g. light tanks PzKpfw II Sd Kfz 123 Ausf. L “Luchs”.

The purpose of this publication is to supplement this gap with a monograph on armored equipment and cars used in the 4th Panzer Division in the years 1938-1945 and information on the painting and marking of the 4th Panzer Division combat vehicles.
