Beutepanzer
tank power 439During World War II, German armored units used captured tanks on a fairly wide scale. Some were directly sent to units, such as the T-34 tanks captured in the spring of 1943 and repaired in Kharkov, which took part in the Battle of Kursk in July 1943 with the SS division “Das Reich”. However, most tanks were modified, most often by converting (the chassis) into self-propelled guns.
This study will present tanks (and also “small tanks” – tankettes) from the Austrian, Czechoslovak, Polish, Belgian and French armies.
