Jagdpanzer 38 Hetzer
tank power 521During World War II, the warring parties introduced armored and motorized units, and even infantry, to armament with self-propelled guns armed with anti-tank guns, adapted to fight enemy armored vehicles.
Initially, these were improvised vehicles, constructed on the basis of the chassis of standard light tanks, captured vehicles, or even tracked tractors. Later in the war, specialized, fully armored vehicles were being designed. Several types of such vehicles were used in the German army, e.g. light self-propelled gun (tank destroyer) Jagdpanzer 38 Sd Kfz 138/2 “Hetzer”.
