La Flak de la Leibstandarte
The author presents here the Flak unit of one of the most prestigious divisions, the Leibstandarte. The anti-aircraft gunners of this unit were also engaged against ground objectives thanks to the power of the famous 8.8 and the rate of the lighter guns, saturating the attacks of the opposing infantry with their fire. We follow this unit in Serbia, in Greece, where it is illustrated, but especially in Ukraine, in Normandy, in the Ardennes then in Hungary. This work is based mainly on testimonies of veterans and a rich iconography – more than 250 photographs, largely unpublished.
