Register of Finnish Waffen-SS volunteers 1941-1943

The Finnish Waffen-SS volunteer battalion (German: Finnisches Freiwilligen-Bataillon der Waffen-SS, originally SS Freiwilligen-Bataillon Nordost) was a unit of the German Waffen-SS composed of Finnish volunteers that operated on the Eastern Front of the Second World War between 1941 and 1943. The battalion was part of the SS-Division Wiking (5. SS-Panzer-Division Wiking). Several of the volunteers worked in the resistance movement established by the Germans in Finland after the end of the Continuation War. Out of approximately 1,400 Finnish Waffen-SS soldiers, 256 were killed, 14 were missing and 686 were wounded.

The unit is also known in Finnish as the Panttipataljoona, according to the much-cited work written about the unit by Professor Mauno Jokipii.
