Sd Kfz 234 ADGZ (8-Rad).
tank power 428During World War II, German reconnaissance units were initially armed only with armored cars. Several types of vehicles were used, differing in combat weight, traction and armament. The lightest were four-wheeled vehicles (4-Rad) – Militaria No. 339 and 340. The units also had heavier six-wheeled vehicles (6-Rad) produced on the chassis of standard trucks – Militaria No. 340.
The German army, apart from the mentioned cars, also used heavy armored cars Sd Kfz 231/232/233 (8-Rad) constructed on a GS chassis. These were vehicles with good traction properties, but with relatively weak armament and armor (Militaria No. 394). The eight-wheeled vehicles Sd Kfz 231/232/233 were produced until mid-1943, later they were replaced by the excellent, also eight-wheeled, armored cars Sd Kfz 234.
This study will discuss four versions of the ARK – Sd Kfz 234 (8-Rad) eight-wheeled cars and the Austrian ADGZ armored cars used mainly in German police units. Photos, color profiles, organization charts and scale drawings, Polish text, English captions
