The “Valentine” tank is one of the most famous British armored vehicles from World War II. It was a specific “hybrid” of a slow infantry tank, but without its strong armor and typical battlefield basic tank – but without its speed and maneuverability. However, history soon showed that such constructions had a future and in many cases they were the progenitors of the later universal medium tanks, the so-called main battle tanks – main battle tank. The first part of the monograph presents the origins of this successful design and discusses all the basic development versions of the British and Canadian tank. In addition, there is a detailed technical description and discussion of “Valentine” tank battles in North Africa and Italy in 1941-1943,photos, color profiles, organization charts and scale drawings.
